Description Work Location: Port Huron Role Overview: A Pressing Team Member must be able to operate machines for the finishing of household products and garments made of fabric, such as clothing, and draperies.
Your Team: You will work with other production technicians.
You will report to the Production Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities (roles): - Maintain production goals.
- Fabric identification.
- Overall workflow.
- Routine operator maintenance.
- Classifies and organizes incoming items by lot
- Finishes garments, using a hand iron and pressing machine.
- Loads completed and inspected items on to the automated assembly conveyor.
- May perform related tasks, such as sewing on buttons and expediting clothing through the process.
- Cross-trained in as many Production Technician positions as possible.
- Works well as a team member with other team members.
- Has the ability to follow direction from the Production Team Leader. Must be willing to accept positive constructive suggestions.
- Notifies the Production Team Leader of any problems with equipment or challenges with processing their assigned items.
- Follows the production schedule in the correct "lot sequence."
- Performs other duties assigned.
- Keeps work area neat and clean.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Attends production meetings as requested.
Key Competencies: Able to see colors.
Good motor skills without being rough on items.
Knowledge of fabric types and types of pressing needed for each type of garment.
Physical Requirements: Good eyesight.
Physical endurance to stand for the entire shift.
Have the right mindset to do repetitive work.
Desired Results/Performance: Meet handling and pressing standards on a pieces per hour basis.
Conditions: Can be hot in summer, fans and water provided
Can be cold in winter.
Environment can be dangerous with moving equipment, chemicals, and different types of machinery.
Key Performance Indicators: - Pieces per Operator Hour.
- Pieces returned from Quality Inspector as unacceptable.
Professional/Educational Background: High school graduation or equivalent is required.
Training Schedule: - Production Team Member training - 60 days
Requirements - Must be punctual

- Attention to detail & willing to learn
- Must be able to lift 10-20lbs regularly
- Must be able to work in a non air conditioned environment
