Our firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing comprehensive support to a team of attorneys specializing in Personal Injury law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Personal Injury and a proven ability to manage a complex workload with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
As a Legal Assistant, you will be expected to:
1. Provide comprehensive administrative support to our team of attorneys, including but not limited to, drafting and proofreading legal documents, preparing court filings, and managing correspondence with clients and opposing counsel.
2. Conduct thorough and timely legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
3. Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments, court dates, and deadlines, ensuring all obligations are met in a timely manner.
4. Maintain organized, up-to-date case files and client records, utilizing our firm's document management system.
5. Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals, providing excellent customer service and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
6. Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, and handling any last-minute logistics.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with a strong focus on Personal Injury law.
2. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage a heavy workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to draft and proofread legal documents accurately.
4. Proficiency in legal research, with a solid understanding of legal terminology and principles.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact professionally with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
6. Proficiency in the use of legal software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
7. A paralegal certificate or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
