Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented receptionist to join a fast-paced pathology billing office!

Responsibilities:

• Patient Interaction:
• Greet patients in person and over the phone with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Answer patient inquiries about billing statements, insurance coverage, and payment options.
• Assist patients with understanding and resolving billing issues.
• Process patient payments (cash, check, credit card) accurately and securely.
• Communication:
• Manage a high volume of incoming and outgoing phone calls, including voicemail retrieval and prompt callbacks.
• Make professional outbound calls to discuss billing matters with private pay patients and patients at risk of collections.
• Maintain clear and concise communication with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
• Administrative Support:
• Perform data entry tasks related to patient information and billing data with accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
• Assist other staff with administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service or administrative role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with medical terminology a plus.
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
