Since 1987, the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) has set the standard in certification, continuing education, solutions and tools for health and fitness, sports performance and sports medicine professionals. NASM has pioneered evidence-based health and fitness solutions that optimize physical performance and allow individuals to achieve a variety of fitness activity goals.
The purpose of this position is to drive outside sales for the Academic Channel. The Fitness Education Consultant is responsible for building and securing a robust sales pipeline by identifing opportunities to secure new Academic Partners using industry experiences/know-how, sales best practice strategies and business development tactics. This position is responsible for forecasting, targeting, lead generation, and acquisition of new academic partners by effectively uncovering client needs, then determining and recommending solutions for prospective clients to improve business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
* Meet and exceed sales targets
* Development and execution of strategic plans to target and acquire new accounts
* Research, target and sell solutions to prospects that match ideal client profile, thereby driving life time account value for the academic channel. Contract negotiation and execution required
* Forecast sales and develop creative strategies for lead generation and pipeline development
* Effectively transition new accounts to Client Account Managers after contract execution for ongoing support
Education & Experience:
* BA/BS degree
* 3-5+ years of academic B2B sales experience
* Ability and proven track record of sales production, client management and performance success
* CTE and Education Vendor Application Approval experience a plus
Skills & Abilities:
* Proven sales experience and high performer
* Strong strategic planning and development experience
* Pipeline development and revenue forecasting
* Technical expertise of academic industry requirements and trends
* Technical expertise on NASM and AFAA products
* Self-motivated and directed
* Contract negotiation
* Proven business relationship building skills and track record of proficient collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
* Process oriented with strong attention to detail and effective record-keeping
* Ability to access and use CRM Dynamics, Hubspot, Wrike, Google online assets (e.g. Docs and Sheets) and general Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Other Requirements (Travel, shifts, physical demands, etc.):
* This position will include travel to prospective and current clients, as well as industry events.
