A leading environmental consulting firm dedicated to sustainable practices and regulatory compliance is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist to join their team in San Francisco. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of environmental projects with a focus on multimedia compliance. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with at least 8 years of experience navigating complex environmental regulations and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws. Position Summary: The Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the compliance of various environmental programs and regulations across multimedia disciplines, including air, water, waste, and hazardous materials. The role will involve providing expert guidance on compliance strategies, preparing reports, performing audits, and ensuring that all projects meet regulatory standards. This is a senior-level position that requires a strong technical background in environmental science, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities: Lead environmental compliance efforts for multimedia programs, including air, water, waste, and hazardous materials management. Conduct regulatory research and provide guidance on federal, state, and local environmental laws and standards. Perform environmental audits and inspections at client facilities to assess compliance with relevant regulations. Develop and implement environmental compliance plans, policies, and procedures to ensure ongoing regulatory adherence. Prepare, review, and submit environmental reports, permits, and documentation to regulatory agencies. Work closely with clients to address environmental issues, provide compliance solutions, and ensure project success. Mentor and provide leadership to junior compliance staff. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support environmental impact assessments, risk analysis, and sustainability initiatives. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing environmental regulations and industry best practices. Represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and clients. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental compliance, with significant expertise in multimedia compliance (air, water, waste, hazardous materials). Skills: Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, CalEPA, OSHA, etc.). Proven experience managing environmental compliance programs for complex projects. Expertise in conducting environmental audits and inspections. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports and proposals. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
